Ghanaway for Christmas

Donation protected
Hi Everyone!

I can honestly tell you that I did not expect to be raising money again so soon- But when the Lord tells you to do something (like REALLY tells you), you listen.

As many of you know I recently got home from an amazing 2 week trip to Ghana, Africa where I visited the Village of Life Academy* in Kete Krachi.

This trip changed my life forever. I had zero expectations going into the trip and now the Lord has placed His expectations on my heart. While I was in Ghana I had the privilege of connecting with three little boys: Eddo, Tome, and Ansah Samuel. Each of them have such different personalities, yet they all love so fiercely.

Something you may not know or realize about these boys is that they were once trafficked kids on Lake Volta. They have been abused, neglected, starved, you name it. Knowing my boys were once slaves completely breaks my heart. However, knowing that they have a heavenly Father who is in the business of redepemtion and restoration puts all of those broken pieces of my heart back together.

Human Trafficking on Lake Volta is a severe problem. I have only seen a very small glimpse of it, but George Sr. and Geroge Jr. (the founders of the Village of Life Academy) are submersed in the horrors of human trafficking every day. Their lives are entangeld in it as they constantly try to fight and advocate for the children who are still enslaved. Modern day slavery still exisits. In Africa. In Greece. In the U.S. We cannot ignore it any longer.

I have been really unsure of my role at the VOL or how I could truly be of any help. I am not a teacher or a nurse, what do I have to offer? And then it hit me. I am designer and an administrative professional. My mission is to make the Village of Life KNOWN. To bring awareness through social media, marketing, stories, and photography.  This grand epiphone is the driving force behind my return to Ghana THIS December.

I will be returning this time for ONE MONTH! During my time there I hope to shed some serious light on Kete Krachi, so much so that each of you feel a connection with it. That your awareness of this horror prompts you to tell others so we may make a global impact and eradicate human trafficking forever.

The details of my trip are still unfolding and I will share more of the fun stuff as it is solidified. One of my biggest hurdles is financial backing. If you are able to give, I would be so appreciative and forever grateful that you are committed to going on this journey with me. And I am so excited to be going back to the place where I left my heart.

*The Village of Life (VOL) is a safe haven for children who are victims of human trafficking. They receive housing, food, clothes, education, medical care, sponsorships, and most of all, LOVE.
