In August, I was blessed with an opportunity to serve at a Kid's Camp in Tamale, Ghana. While serving there, I was given the opportunity to give my testimony and through that, I was asked to return as a volunteer to work with the women and children in the community and surrounding villages of Tamale, Ghana. I have prayerfully accepted the offer and will be returning to Ghana in January!!
Since giving my life to Jesus just 4 years ago (my 40 years in the wilderness), I have been on an amazing journey, following Jesus wherever He has asked me to go. I have served at orphanages in Peru and Nicaragua, and at this Kid's Camp in Ghana! I have dreamed of serving in Africa since I was a child, before I ever really knew who God/Jesus was. With your help, through prayer and financial support, we can join together and share His love with a struggling community.
I know this is short notice and the amount I am needing to raise is big but I also know we serve a BIG God and I know He will provide for this journey He has called me to.
Most importantly, would you partner with me in prayer for this mission? Please pray for God's protection at all times leading up to, and during my stay in Ghana. I would like to stay for 1 year, but I am willing to stay as long as our Father provides. Please pray for the hearts and minds of those we are going to serve, to be opened and receptive to His message and all that He wants to accomplish through this work. Please also pray that our efforts will make a lasting impact in the community and for lives to be drawn to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Here is a cost breakdown of my expenses for a 1 year stay:
$1750 roundtrip airfare to Ghana (including in country flight from Accra to Tamale)
$4800 for room and board, and food purchased at the local market ($200/mo. rent, $200/mo. food)
$1450 for travel by taxi to/from work sites
$2000 for unexpected expenses-travel, food, medical care
