Hello, everyone. My name is Jason, and I'm the Chief Gecko at Grey Gecko Press, a Houston-based publishing company. Let me tell you a little story...
The Story So Far
#Harvey sucked. We all know that. The most destructive storm to hit Texas in nearly 50 years tore through the Gulf Coast and is still causing havoc further east of Houston. Several of our Geckos were evacuated, forced out of their homes by rising floodwaters. The full extent of the damage isn't known, as some still aren't able to go home. But we know that our people are going to need some serious help in the weeks and months ahead as they try to rebuild their lives.
As a proud local member of our Houston community, Grey Gecko Press has always held dear the tenets of family, community involvement, and compassion for others. When you're part of our team, you're family, and I don't say that lightly. A little like the Marines, there are no ex-Geckos - when you're a Gecko, you're a Gecko for life.
And that means through good times and bad. Especially the bad.
Now, we need your help for some of our own. Though we can pull together and do our damnedest to help each other out as much as possible, there's only so much a small group of people can do.
And no Gecko gets left behind.
Small needs and large, Houston and America are known for coming together to heal the wounds from disasters just like this one. Grey Gecko is no different, and we're already working to make sure our people get back some sense of normalcy as soon as possible.
Where Your Donation Goes
Your donation will go directly to those most affected by that bastard Harvey, in the form of straight cash, deposit into their bank, or a Visa gift card usable just about anywhere (including Costco). We've found that this is often the best way to help out, as refugees know best exactly what it is they need.
Any funds raised over and above those needed for direct help for our Geckos will be distributed to the Houston Food Bank, the Houston SPCA, and Houston Texan's own JJ Watt's Houston Flood Relief Fund equally.

Because we believe so strongly in helping others, but also in our mission to expand the love of reading, we're giving away ebooks in exchange for your donations.
You'll receive your choice of any of our 34 books and stories, in either Kindle or ePub formats. For the higher levels, you can even receive our entire catalog, and upcoming books, too!
So donate $1, $5, $25 - whatever you can spare. Every little bit helps, and it all goes directly to provide relief and support to those in need.
