Sweet Sophie needs your help

My husband rescued Sophie from the middle of Bogard Road here in Wasilla on December 21. Her scarred body tells a sad story that we will never know or understand. What we do know is that she is an amazingly sweet and loving dog. Her patient gaze says she is grateful for every bite of food and every human touch.

Our veterinarian tells us that Sophie has multiple mammary tumors that require surgery. She needs to be spayed, and she has several broken/rotting teeth that need to be removed. We are thankful that the first X-rays show the cancer has not spread. Every day is a gift for Sophie but it is clear her days are limited without the medical care she needs. All Creatures Veterinary Clinic has estimated the cost of Sophie’s medical needs to be as much as $4,815.48. We have fostered and adopted many dogs over the years and all we can tell you is that Sophie is truly special. She is sadly in need of major medical attention beyond our means and her treatment needs to start right away, before the cancer spreads.

It is apparent that the past few years have been rough for Sophie. A gift of just a few dollars from a lot of friends and friends of friends will help cover her medical bills. We will love and take care of Sophie and do our very best to make sure she enjoys the life every puppy deserves! We have three other dogs who have already adopted Sophie into the family.
