PTSD service dog/training for Rudy

My fiance Rudy is 40 years old has 3 children of his own and he has 2 step children as well. He has been in the Army for 23 years and has been recently diagnosed with severe PTSD. Rudy has been to Iraq twice and to Afghanistan recently. Rudy serves as a crew chief on an air ambulance and rescued the wounded at war to include civilians and even the enemy at times. Anyone who knew Rudy before he came back knew he was an out going people person and would jump at the chance to help anyone out even if it was 3am. Rudy has been battling anger issues and he is very distant. His medication is helping, but not enough. We are not the type of people to ask for help, but he is at a place we never thought he would be, instead of doing the rescuing he needs the rescuing more now than ever. He has been at the VA many times and he is far from being back on his feet. Tomorrow he will go to the VA to hopefully start a more aggressive treatment program. When he gets back, it was suggested that he get a PTSD service dog. Rudy has always been the giving type and Rudy would never take anything from anyone but recently we bought a house and we can not financially afford what it would cost forRudy and the service dog to attend the training course.  There are several programs that offer free  service dogs to vets but after inquiring we found out it would take too long for the application process. We are trying to get him a service dog and send him to the training school as soon as possible to get him the help he needs. We inquired several web sites and the average cost for most expenses, registration and other fees averaged about $10,000 to $14,000. Any other day we would be patient but I think we have reached a point where we need to get him the help he needs as soon as possible and the service dog which will hopefully help him in the fight to become the man he once was.
