Breast Cancer Medical Expenses

Hello family and friends, this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I’m sure many of us are supporting family members and friends who are or have bravely endured the ups and downs of this journey. Our family has been impacted by this illness several times over the past three years and currently one of our beautiful princesses, Shamika Butts is receiving treatment for cancer. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2016 and by the grace of God she was soon in remission and resumed her normal lifestyle.
In May of 2018, Shamika was told that the cancer had returned and had spread to her liver, pelvic bone (bone marrow), and pancreas. Of course this was heart breaking news for us but we know our God is in control. Shamika is in good spirit and asked that we not feel bad for her because this is not the situation that she has chosen but she knows that through this illness she can share the love of Christ. Shamika has grown closer to Christ and trusts his purpose for her life. Jeremiah 29:11-13 says “For I know the plans I have for you” says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
We may not know what the future holds but we surely know who holds the future. We ask you to pray for our princess. God hears you and there is POWER in prayer. If you don’t know Jesus for yourself we encourage you to do so; his grace is freely given and his love for you never ceases. Lastly, if you feel led to make a donation towards Shamikia’s medical fund to help with her medical expenses, travel and lodging, that would be a huge blessing. “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
