In Memorium: My dad, a Vietnam Vet

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ashli and my mom's name is Destini. We are seeking help for funeral expenses due to taking an unpaid leave of absence in order to take care of, and support my dad during his illness and now; his end of life details. My father was the healthiest person I knew.  Taking vitamins, staying active and eating clean was his way of life. In fact, he expressed his views on healthy living to anyone who would listen. Unfortunately, due to his healthy lifestyle, he did not secure life insurance. Once we discovered his illness, it was too late.

My dad, Albert, was a Vietnam War Veteran. He served Honorably in the United States Navy. He battled depression upon his return home and would never talk about it.
He died on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at the VA Hospital, where he battled two very agressive cancers, pancreatic and liver. From diagnosis to death was just under 3 months. He fought so hard. Everyday was a testiment to his faith. His pain was excruciating and very hard to watch. He never felt sorry for himself, he never asked, Why Me? His only concern was for me, my mom, my brother, and his small circle of family and friends.

My daddy was so brave, but he fought a relentless enemy. One who never plays fair. Who didn't follow any rules of conduct. This enemy shut down his organs, matastasized to his bones, seeped into his bloodstream, played tricks on his mind and took away his independence. Through it all, my daddy kept his sense of humor and even managed to joke around. His smile use to give the stars competition, near the end, he just couldn't.
He was kind, smart, talented (a real life MacGyver) and just plain fun! He loved Jesus, his family, his country and friends. He never met a stranger and he was ALWAYS there if you needed him. He was outgoing, loved the beach, camping and fishing. Oh, and golf, which he "thought" he was good at. I am a daddy's girl and I like to think we are very much alike. I love and miss him more than I thought imaginable. He is and will forever be my hero.

Please help my mom and me to honor him for his life and service.
