GFD Local 762 Well Spring Toy Drive

GFD Local 762 is collecting donations in collaboration with Wellspring's Holiday Store.
Wellspring’s Holiday Store program provides an opportunity for eligible low-income parents to shop by appointment for toys and gifts for their children. This program not only brightens the holidays for kids in need, it also serves as a lifeline that keeps parents from getting behind on bills or rent in January. Each December, for one weekend before the holidays, Wellspring House is stocked with donated toys. Parents register for a 20 minute appointment and, for $2 per child, may pick out one large gift, one medium gift, one small gift, and a book.
Why donate cash instead of toys? Even with all the generous gift donations to Wellspring there always seems to be a shortage. Some years it's sporting goods other times it's been teen related gifts. After inventory of Wellspring's gift collections we generate a list of what items are still in need. With the funds collected through GFD Local 762 fundraising we set out on a shopping spree and do all we can to get all shelves stocked with enough toys and gifts for kids of all ages!
Last year’s Holiday Store served 818 children from 362 families in need from our community. That’s over 2,454 toys!
The 2019 Holiday Store will take place on Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th.
No donation is too small and all are greatly appreciated. Together we can make a big difference!
