Scholarship for Jon

Please help fund Jon's special education needs!  Adopted through Kentucky's Foster to Adopt Program at the age of 2 1/2, Jon has seen more in his short 9 years than anyone should ever have to experience.  An abused child, when he was age 2 Jon spent over a month in Kosair Children's hospital recovering from emergency surgery that was required following the abuse he suffered.  A house fire took his home when he was 6 and divorce split up his adoptive parents when he was 8.  Even with all this Jon is a sweet boy who loves to help his single mom around the house.

Now in the fourth grade Jon is falling far behind his peers and simply dreads going to school each day.  He has been diagnosed with specific learning disabilities, ADHD, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and speech and language disorders.  His current public elementary school has not been able to help him and they tell us he is receiving every service for which he is eligible.  His single mom has been in touch with an attorney and a professional educational advocate and it appears there is only one solution.

There is great hope for Jon at a local private school, Academy for Individual Excellence (AIE), geared to meet his unique educational needs.  Unfortunantly the $6,000 tuition is out of reach for his struggling single mom.  By the way, Jon also has two younger adopted siblings, a brother and a sister.  Be sure to check out the AIE website: www.aiexcellence.com to learn more about the school.
