Xuan's Fight Against Leukemia

Dear friends and family,
Xuan is our 14 year-old nephew in Malaysia. Like most other, he likes playing basketball and computer games. He also enjoys cooking in his spare time. Last Spring, we received heartbreaking news that he was diagnosed with Leukemia (AML, ALL & Philadelphia positive). Since then, he has endured four rounds of chemotherapy. Xuan's wish is to get well soon and get back to school, however, doctors determined that the only viable treatment option for him is a bone marrow transplant. In fact, finding a right bone marrow donor is extremely difficult!
Two weeks ago his parents received hopeful news that a matching bone marrow donor has been found in Singapore. Xuan is currently being transferred to Kuala Lumpur (out of state hospital) to begin his conditioning regimen to destroy cancer (or other disease-causing cells) and unhealthy bone marrow. This involves radiation treatment (1/23-26) and strong chemotherapy (1/27-28) before the transplant on January 30th. We ask for your prayers for Xuan especially during these two critical months (Jan & Feb).
Xuan is a brave fighter and we know he will fight with all his strength. We're so pround of him. We know it will be a long battle for Xuan and the family. And it's no surprise that there are significant financial responsibilities involved during this process. Thankfully, many people have expressed a desire to help.
