Getting Riley Cured Fund

Donation protected
Riley, 25 years old, married the love of his life, Alexi Stordal, on September 30th, 2017, in Arlington, WA. The honeymoon was immediately following in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Three days in to their 10 day Honeymoon, Riley became very ill. Extreme fever, could digest nothing normally and all his intake was expelled in minutes.

Upon return, Riley was diagnosed with "Traveler's Diarrhea" at a walk-in clinic. Seeking resolution, he recieved that diagnoses twice more before he was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC), via a colonoscopy. It was treated and he was improving for 2 weeks before symptoms returned. This time, doctors diagnosed him with Clostridium Difficile Colitis (C-Diff) which takes 14,000 lives in the U.S. each year. After 2 different antibiotics the C-Diff was still ailing him.

Since then, after many doctor's visits, he has no answers as to why he is not improving or what is ailing him.

Yesterday, he visited the best known medical facility in Washington State, The University Medical Center at the University of Washington. His lab work had "normal" results. They referred him to their G.I. Specialist. That department has not given him an appointment date yet.

In the meantime, Riley and Alexi will continue to wake up an average of 8 times a night to handle unavoidable accidents. Riley has lost an unhealthy amount of weight and has no energy. Because he isn't getting any nutrients from his food and is waking many times at night, he is always fatigued.

Riley McKinley used to be a very healthy guy. He makes great decisions about health and lifestyle. He does not deserve what is happening to him. He needs answers and to find a cure for what is, very apparently, eating him from the inside out. He needs treatments that health insurance will not cover, like "fecal matter transplant," more colonoscopies, at $5,000 each,  and untold time off of work.

Recently, he started his job at the City of Everett (Washington), and is on a probationary period of 6 months. He is afraid to take days off work. His health will take precedence over attendance at work but every time he misses work for doctor appointments, he is not making money and is afraid he will be let go.

If you could meet Riley, your heart would go out to this guy. He has a heart of gold and would donate time, money or whatever he could, to help others.
