Getting Krissy a seizure alert dog

KristyAna Jo is a very loving, and intellegent 8yr old 2nd grader. She was diagnosed with Absent Epilepsy with grand mal seizures. When she was a baby she had seizures with high fevers and we were told she would grow out of them, but after she turned 2 she started having absent seizures. We did not reconigize them because we thought she was a spacey, little girl. A year ago I started noticing her having 2-3 of these "episodes" a day, after about 30seconds to a minute she would "zone out" she would come to, and complain of bad headaches, dizziness, and nausea. We started seeing her doctor about it, who then referred us to a Pediatric Neurosurgeon. Doctor Foster then had a EEG done on her, and we found out that she infact is epileptic and has what is called "Absent Epilepsy." In the last 4weeks she has had 2-5 of the absent ones a day, but also has had 4 grand mals. She is on Keppra, but was just approved to have a seizure alert dog, which was another recommened treatment by her neuro and therapist.

We were approved for her seizure alert dog through North Star Dogs Foundation which we are now having to raise the money through fundrasing so we can get her this animal that she greatly needs. KristyAna is such a lovable, girl and it hurts me to see her face this struggle, and her getting a dog would help not only when she has a seizure but with her confidence as well.
