Getting Julie Back on the Trail

Donation protected
For those of you who know Julie May, she is no stranger to pain.  Julie has a degenerative bone disease that will progress for the rest of her life.  Her first hip surgery was done at age 13, followed by three more surgeries before the age of 17.  She had a full right hip and femur replacement in 1999.  In 2015 she had her right knee replaced.  In 2017 she had a partial knee replacement.

Over the last year, Julie has experienced a spike in pain levels.  At a recent doctor appointment, she was told that she needs both hips replaced as well as her left knee; with back surgery being the final step.  The priority is the left hip, which is significantly deteriorated and causing intense pain.  Her first surgery is scheduled for early May of this year.

We are asking friends and family to help her fund this first of many surgeries to come.  Julie recently started a new job, so she has not accrued enough paid leave to cover the recovery time.  Thankfully, she has insurance, but she will need to pay over $5,000.00 in estimated out of pocket costs.  She will also have rent and bills to pay.  Any help you can provide will be deeply appreciated, positive thoughts included!  We want to see Julie get back on the trail again someday.  Updates will be posted regularly.  Thank you!
