Get The Fackrell Family Back Home

Our Struggle:
The Fackrell family has had to leave their home! After a record-breaking winter of snow and cold, resulting in broken water pipes only recently discovered because of a huge water bill, mold has been discovered in the Fackrell home, forcing them to find shelter with grandparents and friends. This would be a huge hardship for any family, but it adds to several challenges they have been dealing with for years including:

· Three children diagnosed with autism who need to be transported to multiple therapy visits, doctor appointments and daily activities, with challenging behavior issues such as running away, frequent meltdowns, and sensory overload caused by light

· Mom Bobbi’s sarcoidosis, a painful inflammatory disease for which she takes medication that makes driving difficult, sometimes impossible

· The loss of Dad JD’s job because he was missing work while attending to his family’s needs

Despite these challenges, they have been able to find the resources to keep up their house payments and take care of their family. However, they have no financial cushion to cover this disaster. The insurance company denied their claim. The kids, especially the ones with autism, need the stability of their own home as soon as possible.

JD and Bobbi love their children and want to keep their family together despite Health & Welfare workers’ threats to remove the kids. No one knows how to calm her boys like Bobbi does. JD’s calm and steady nature is an anchor to the family. The older girls are wonderful at playing with and entertaining their younger siblings, but they aren't even able to live in the same house with their family right now.

Our Plan:
A mold specialist inspected the home, and determined that all the sheetrock and insulation must be removed down to the studs and replaced. Professionals will perform the costly mold removal work, but community and church volunteers are available to help rebuild. We need the following:

· Donations of any size that will go towards paying for mold removal, fixing the plumbing, and buying materials needed to rebuild the inside of the home

· Guidance on how to make the home safer for their autistic kids

· Advice or information specific to this situation

Thanks so much for caring for my friends. I will post updates on the progress. PLEASE help us get the Fackrell family back into their home! Thank you!
