Help us get Nimbus home with her Mom and Dad!

Nimbus is a sweet, adventurous, loving German Shepherd. She is two years old and is so full of life and energy! Her mom, Sara, is a fitness coach and an inspiration to many! She has an unwaivering kindness for all and radiates positivity. Her dad, Brenden, is an American soldier serving in the Marine Corps. Those who know them are so lucky to call them friends! Brenden and Sara have been living overseas in Japan on account of his military duty, and we thank him for his service.

Very recently, this wonderful family experienced extreme heartbreak. Their sweet boy Oshie, an Australian Shepherd, passed away. Oshie was diagnosed with a rare disease called Leptospirosis that can affect both animals and humans. Leptospirosis causes high fever, headache, bleeding, muscle pain, chills, red eyes, and vomiting. Without treatment, leptospirosis can lead to kidney and liver damage and even death. Oshie went through several medical procedures, including dialysis, in an attempt to cure the infection. Shortly after Oshie was diagnosed, Brenden also needed to be treated for leptospirosis. Oshie and his family fought as long and as hard as they could for several long days, but unfortunately, they were unable to cure him. For those of us who own dogs or other pets, we understand that they are our best friends. Losing Oshie was truly a tragedy for this family, and the pain they experienced is unfathomable, especially since the illness came entirely out of the blue; not to mention the vet and medical bills they were left with in the aftermath.



Brenden's service in Okinawa is coming to end, but their hardships are not over yet. They recently discovered that in order to bring their sweet girl, Nimbus, home with them, it can cost up to six thousand dollars. They really cannot catch a break! Bringing a pet overseas is a complicated process as is, but the cost of it is astronomical. We are asking you, as friends and as pet owners, to assist us in keeping this amazing family united and help us
