Hello. I'm Mary. I'm over 70 and unfit and need to do something about it. My family are all fitter than I am but they want to get even fitter to enjoy the summer. We have a good friend who, at the moment, can only get out and about if someone takes her. She wants to enjoy the summer too. and a powered wheelchair that she can put in the car would make a big different to her life.
So we are setting goals and asking friends and family to sponsor us to get fitter while at the same time raising the money to buy that wheelchair.
All help greatly appreciated. Here are the fitness targets:
Mary: currently recording an average of 3154 steps daily which is pretty poor. the target is to get to an average of at least 5k by the end of June
Kevin: aims to do 400 ups and downs a day on his exercise step, 5 days every week
Sally: pretty fit already but wants to improve by doing an average of (at least) 12,000 steps a day.
Chris: already fit and really a cyclist but he is going to do 10,000 steps a day as well
Lucy; extremely fit already but is committing to doing 15,000 steps a day plus press-ups and squats.
Vicky: often unable to monitor but will do her best... watch this space.
