Three months of fundraising later and I have reached my goal of $5000. Now I am off to Bir, in the Himalayan foothills of Northern India.
There I will be volunteering my time to put in place proper waste management and educate locals on how to use the system, as well as aid local wildlife conservation efforts and run workshops for monks in their monasteries.
I will also be visiting the home of the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, as well as its hospital, renowned for its dedication to the practice of Tibetan plant-based medicine. There will also be weekend hikes through the Himalayan National Park and a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar!
I will have limited internet access for the duration of the trip, so photos and stories will have to wait until my return home. Stay tuned for posts and articles on this Get Her 2 India! page.
