‘GET HEMEL TALKING’ – SATURDAY OCTOBER 31st 2020

PEOPLE OF HEMEL HEMPSTEAD! MUMS, DADS, BROTHERS, SISTERS, AUNTS, UNCLES, GRANDADS, GRANDMAS AND EVERYBODY ELSE – WE WANT YOU!

Brave and YOUnique Minds, two mental health and wellbeing charities founded by Hemel Hempstead residents, have teamed up to organise a town wide event on Saturday 31st October.

This year has been so tough for all of us. People have lost freedoms, jobs and loved ones in 2020 and there are so many of us feeling the effects of this dreadful year every single day. But there is hope! We will get back to normal. We will bounce back and hopefully soon this will all be a distant memory.

A lot of us have missed our friends and families during this time, and on Saturday 31st October, we are asking the people of Hemel Hempstead to contact their loved ones and go on a nice walk together to catch up, check in on one another and find out how we are all doing. Exercise and talking can have such a positive effect on our wellbeing and that is what we are hoping to achieve!

We will be sharing your pictures on our social media platforms throughout the day and although not compulsory, we would welcome a £10 donation which will be split between us – that money will then be used to help those in need and the growth of our organisations. Or if you aren’t going to be taking part but just like the sound of what we do, your donations are greatly appreciated!

Details

Date – Saturday October 31st 2020

Time – Up to you – but we would suggest between 8am and 3pm.

Distance – up to you! 5 kilometres takes approximately 45-50 minutes and gives you a great chance to have a good chat whilst getting a good workout. But it really is your choice.

Donations – We would welcome voluntary donations of £10 per walking group – this money will then be split between Brave and YOUnique Minds and will be used to support the growth of both organisations in their quests to improve the lives of people struggling with their mental health and wellbeing.

Getting involved – After your walk, or even during it, please send us photos of videos! These can be sent directly to Brave at Instagram.com/bebraveuk or facebook.com/bebraveuk and will then be shared on our social media platforms!

We will also be following this event up in our local newspapers, so please look out for that!

Thanks so much everyone
