My name is Camille Kerber and I am a high school student from Phoenix, Arizona. I have been accepted to the National Theatre for Student Artists Summer Program in New York, and l will be performing in the off-Broadway debut of a new musical called Loserville. This is a very prestigious program with only 16 cast members from across the US chosen from nearly 650 applicants, and I am the only participant from Arizona. The cast and crew will live and rehearse on the campus of Daemen College in Buffalo, NY for three weeks before traveling to NYC to perform in the York Theatre, an off-Broadway theatre. The total cost for this program (about $5700) is out of reach for my family and me: $4,900 for program tuition and room and board and another $800+ for flights and incidentals. My parents have agreed to help with the flights, incidentals and a portion of tuition and I will be contributing money from my savings and other babysitting and odd jobs. However, I have a long way to go. I still need to come up with at least $4,200 to cover the program costs.
Would you be willing to donate to help me reach this goal? If you can contribute any amount, I would greatly appreciate it. If you are unable to donate, it would be incredibly helpful if you would 1) forward my campaign to your friends and family that may be able to donate (A great way to do this is by sharing my campaign to your social media pages) and 2) say a prayer for my successful fundraising and experience in the program.
I have had a tremendous experience participating in a variety of theatre productions and love singing in choir, small ensembles and as a soloist. I have discovered that each person has their own, unique voice to use to promote good, and I have found great happiness, satisfaction, and success in using my voice to communicate through performance. I now understand that art has the power to change, teach, and heal, and I believe God has given me gifts and talents to play a part in the beautiful influence of the art of musical theatre. My dream is to be able to utilize my skills to teach and inspire others, be an example of God’s love in this often demoralizing industry, and be a force for good in the world. The NTSA summer program will help provide the training I need to better my skills and learn about the industry, as well as have the opportunity to be challenged in a professional-level production. I would appreciate any help you can provide to help me in reaching my goal!
