Get Well Walter

We received some terrible news today regarding our sweet boy, Walter. At his check up to examine recent drooling and excessive overgrooming, our vet discovered a large mass under Walter's tongue that is believed to be cancerous. This Friday we have an appointment for surgery to remove and test the mass, but things are not looking in our favor as of now and we are unfortunately preparing for the worst. Our visit this Friday will cost nearly $900 and the road ahead, regardless of Walter's diagnosis, will be extremely costly (I'm talking thousands of dollars), so we are looking for any help we can get. 

For those of you who do not know Walter, he was dealt a hand that no living creature should ever endure. Before he was rescued, he lived outdoors in the freezing winter cold, was beaten up by barn cats (Walter is declawed) without food, water, or protection, and developed a number of serious health condtions such as chronic kidney disease, heart disease, chronic upper respitory problems, and more. Thankfully, a  very kind woman and her daughter rescued Walter and took him into Crash's Landing, a cat rescue in Grand Rapids, where he was rehabilitated.

Due to Walter's extreme health conditions, he was a permanant resident Crash's Landing, meaning he was not a candidate for adoption, until I came along. I started volunteering with Crash's in June 2015 and to put it briefly, I simply couldn't live without him. Alex and I rescued Walter in September 7, 2015 and he has been the biggest blessing to our family. Never in our lives have we met a more thankful, sweet, and loving creature. If you've met our Walter, you know that all he wants is love and a warm lap to lay on.  Rescuing him was the best decision I've made since.
