I am Linda Harmon. The pictures displayed on the front is how he looked before he went missing.Now:
My furbaby, Twixx went missing at age 3, two years ago this month. As I searched for him, someone sent me a picture of a dog that had been hit by a veh; he looked just like my dog so I reported him as deceased to the chip company. Meanwhile, he was actually alive and another family took him in, but didn't get him scanned. He also didn't receive any vet care, rabies shots or registration for two years. When he was turned over to the animal shelter, they scanned him and contacted me. I noticed he looked a little run down w/labored breathing. I took him to his vet he had since he was a puppy and they discovered ear infections, a cyst on his back that he scratches and gnaws at daily, tape worms and heart worms and his groomer discovered flea infestation. His vet recommended an extensive, aggressive, treatment to rid him of the heartworms before they cause heart failure; but I can't afford to cover it. It is suggested he begins treatment within the next week. He also needs the cyst removed and it will require sedation and surgery. He's such a wonderful furbaby and doesn't deserve to suffer like this; especially since he held out this long to be reunited with his original family. He means so much to us. He's extremely smart, obeys commands, affectionate and never meets a stranger. Even while he's miserable, he will raise a paw to shake your hand! I will be extremely grateful for any and all donations given for his medical care so that he can be on the road to recovery. I've paid for what I can for his ear infections and to help prevent the worm infestation from getting any worse. Right now he is boarding at the vet in a quarantine area for the de-worming. His story has reached national attention and I promise to keep everyone informed on his recovery for as long as they want to know.
