Get Well Soon Brian

After suffering back-to-back heart attacks and having emergency open heart surgery my dear friend Jacquie’s dad, Brian, is fighting the battle of his life. Although the doctors feel the surgery itself was successful, numerous complications have arisen. He has a chest tube trying to remove fluid from his lungs, he is on dialysis 24 hours a day as his kidneys are not functioning properly and is also on a feeding tube as he cannot swallow from the effects of being intubated. They are also struggling to get his blood pressure stabilized. Although he is showing slight signs of improvement every day, he is far from being out of the woods and his recovery will be a long and slow process. He has been in the hospital for two weeks now and there is no way of estimating when he will be stable enough to be released. Jacquie and her husband James have been by his side the entire time. As University Hospital in London is an hour from home, they have been living in a hotel. Being financially stressed to begin with, they are unable to deal with the mounting costs (hotel, lost wages, food, gas, parking and other miscellaneous expenses). With the stress, anxiety and anguish of having their Dad go through all of this, the financial burden is something that I do not want them to have to deal with. If you know Jacquie and James, you know that they have hearts of gold and would drop everything to help someone in need. It’s now them who need a hand.
