Please help The Second Estate podcast get to New York City to see Lea Michele's triumphant return to Broadway as Fanny Brice in 'Funny Girl'.
We are setting up this GoFundMe to subsidise our trip to New York City so that we can complete our long-standing Lea redemption campaign for you. We will make podcast episodes before, during and after witnessing Lea grace the stage and take you along for every second of the ride, with additional video content too.
However, we know that's not quite enough.
So, we are setting up challenges that we will complete as we reach each funding milestone to encourage more donations and whet your appetite for the content to come in New York City. All of these challenges will be filmed for our social media and/or included in the episode following the milestone being reached.
Here are the challenges we will complete as we reach each donation milestone:
- $50 - Cinnamon challenge live on the soonest podcast episode
- $100 - TSE 'Hot Ones' challenge- attempting to eat three levels of spicy wings while discussing a topic for the week
- $250 - Full podcast episode drinking game where we take a shot every time one of us says the word 'like'.
- $500 - Going to the Malvern Pancake Parlor in formal wear at midnight (we're talking Met Gala gowns, plus hair and makeup)
- $750 - Wear fedoras for an entire reformer pilates class
- $1000 - Wearing a tie all day at work without explaining to anyone why
- $1250 - Complete a series of vocal warmups in a crowded public lift
- $1500 - Walking from Frankston Station to Flinders Street Station (that is a 40 km, 9-hour walk)
- $2000 - Busking 'Don’t Rain On My Parade' from Funny Girl in Melbourne's Federation Square
- $2500 - Singing Demi Lovato's 'La La Land' in the supermarket loudly while wearing converse and dresses
- $3000 - Going to a local dog park with one of us dressed as a dog (collar and all) and one of us dressed as the owner
- $3500 - Pretend to work as cleaners at a club: involving sneaking into a popular Melbourne night club, getting changed into janitor outfits in the bathrooms and proceeding to attempt to mop, scrub, and clean up on the dance floor amongst clubgoers.
- $4000 - Flash duet to Don’t Stop Believing from Glee in Flinders Street Station – we will learn the entire official choreography from the show
- $4500 - Dressing up as security for Mark Seymour and guarding him during a live CD signing

ABOUT OUR LEA MICHELE JOURNEY:
Throughout the two and a half years of TSE, Sarah and Hannah have tirelessly campaigned for the redemption arc of Lea Michele – even going so far as to continuously publicly manifest she takes over the Broadway 'Funny Girl' revival leading role from Beanie Feldstein.
As you can imagine when this did come to pass, they felt that they had played a role in the good fortune bestowed upon us all – and vowed to get to New York to see Lea perform the role in person.
However with the podcast costing more money than it makes and airline travel costs skyrocketing since the pandemic, getting #TSETONYC is going to take more cash than Hannah & Sarah can part with.
This is where you come in.
If we don't reach our funding goal and therefore can't go to NYC we will give all of it back to you, so no harm no foul if we don't get there.
