GET TAYLOR ON THE ROAD

Donation protected
Taylor is the most selfless, hardworking, giving woman i have met in awhile. This being said, she has helped the community in so many ways and is still giving her time and space to make sure others are taken care of from when she wakes up to when she goes to bed. She fights for those who are the most vulnerable and goes out of her way to make sure they are being treated with the utmost respect.

I am making a go fund me for her; below is her story. She deserves this so much, and it is time we work together as a community and give back to Taylor so she can not only have her independence back along with safety, but she can keep on making changes and helping the community

I have made the goal 15.000 and if any donations are left over i will have them donated to Bear Clan Patrol Calgary ( Just another grassroots organization Taylor works very closely with that work on the front lines with our unhoused population)

In 2014 I bought my first truck (an '09 GMC Sierra) that was towed after a traffic stop in 2016 due to having no registration and no insurance at the time, and repo'd from the impound from overdue payments. I drove the truck without registration and insurance because I was unable to pay the $3500 up front for insurance when it came time to renew, and couldn't afford the red light tickets in order to register, but I needed to drive in order to be able to get to my jobs and my daughter to/from daycare and kindergarten all on time.

My daughter was 6 at the time while I worked 3 jobs. Despite working so much, I still was unable to keep up with bills AND come up with the thousands of dollars needed to fix this situation in order to drive again. Unfortunately, I still have yet to catch up with this debt and remain unable to drive.
Losing the ability to drive took away a lot of independence as a single Mother and left me to rely on others for transportation. I also lost jobs and opportunities as a result of scheduling when using transit. Ultimately, it left me in a financially vulnerable position that I am still trying to correct 6 years later.

Up until December 2021, I even had a warrant for my arrest for the unpaid fine ($3000) for having no registration and no insurance from being pulled over in 2016. I am extremely grateful to a community member and close friend who helped pay off this fine, removing the warrant and kept me safe from arrest.
After 6 years of trying to pay this debt off, it just seems to become more and more unattainable. There has never been a time in my life where I've just had a couple grand laying around, let alone $10,000.

So I am reaching out to the community to help in squashing this!

Due to becoming a target in this city, public transit has become increasingly unsafe for me, and using Uber is not a sustainable or affordable way of ongoing transportation. It's important for me to be able to drive again for independence and safety and also to be able to contribute to the community in other ways such as picking up and dropping off items, transporting people, and responding to crisis calls.

It will take $10,000 to get me back on the road:
• $3000 for overdue fines in order to register
• $3500 for insurance
• $3500 to purchase a used vehicle
