Get Steve back on the tools

I'm doing a callout to the community to get behind my carpenter Steve.
Steve is a salt-of-the-earth, give-you-the-shirt-off-his-back kind of guy. Where other tradesmen have tried to take advantage of us (two women renovating an old house), Steve has offered genuine ideas, thought outside the box, taken the time to teach us little tips and tricks along the way, and always extremely fairly charged.
Steve came to work yesterday here and was going much slower than usual.
He was shy about it but turns out his ute was broken into and ALL OF HIS MAIN tools were stolen. He had a full Makita set-up, everything he needs to work on his own and help out hardly-handy people like my wife and me.
Steve hasn't had an easy run in life. He has worked hard for everything and is working hard now to support his missus and two kids. Unfortunately, Steve's insurance had run out prior to this event - so he wasn't covered. With Christmas coming up, and him being unable to complete his current jobs without tools - Steve is looking at a bleak next few months.
I am not in a position to help him entirely myself, but I would love to be able to get him back on track.
Steve isn't on Facebook. He isn't well connected. He would hate to think of me even putting this out there.
If you have ever met a 'Steve', be it that your dad is a 'Steve' or your uncle, or your brother or your son.
If you know one of those help-others-before-themselves kinda guys, I'd love you to consider contributing even a small amount so we can get Steve back on the tools.
Please give whatever feels right to you. It's been a hard year on everyone in different ways, some more than others. Our small contributions together might make a BIG DIFFERENCE for Steve.
