Get Ric Chapman to the QLD Track Classic!!
Ric Chapman is a sports Journalist who has been an incredible ambassador for the Australian athletics community
The Australian athletics season of 2021 has had many big performances and Olympic Qualifiers so far leading into the Tokyo Olympic Games, and Ric Chapman has managed to not only cover these stories and performances in the media, but his stories have been shared all around the country through Fox Sports, Channel 9 News, "The Project", www.news.com and various other big platforms. Getting our Aussie athletes faces on television and in mainstream media.
Ric's recent story on Nina Kennedy, Charlie Hunter, Dani Stevens, Riley Day, Liz Clay, and Bendere Oboya was picked up and shared by Channel 9 News which is an amazing coverage for our sport.
Ric has since reached out to "Athletics Australia" the governing body, requesting for some assistance in funding getting to QLD for one of the biggest athletics events of the year "The QLD Track Classic" on the 27th of March, where we expect to see Olympic Qualifiers and some of the best performances of the year by many of our countries best athletes.
The return flights are only roughly $240
So far, no one within Athletics Australia is prepared to help fund Ric's travel to get to QLD - despite all of his recent stories hitting the biggest media platforms in the country, and giving our athletes more exposure than they would ever normally receive in mainstream media.
Ric Says "I want so much to deliver on my promise of consistent mainstream coverage of the sport, that I was prepared to pay out of my own pocket. Just staggered that Athletics Australia can't see that by osmosis they have a man in at WWOS now that can help them, the athletes and the sport! The opportunity the sport has for massive free national coverage now has NEVER been this potent because of my boss WWOS. Even horse racing and the footy codes pay for coverage. Marketing your sport outside of preaching to the converted is mandatory for survival"
Let's all get behind this man (Ric Chapman) who gets behind our Aussie athletes - and show him that The Australian athletics community appreciates the efforts he goes too in order to continue to promote our top athletes and get their names and faces in the media.
His return flights are a mere $240..... (but I suggest we aim for $400 which includes a case of beer for his top efforts and maybe even the Exit Seat Row seats for some extra leg room on his flights the bloody champion)
