Get Me To The Nursing School

I am Levinie, a single Mom who emigrated from South Africa a year ago to start afresh in England as I wanted to give my daughter, Brenna, and myself the best opportunities for an education and safe environment.

I was lucky enough to find work in January 2020, unfortunately when the lockdown happened my job was made redundant and now I am working part-time at a special needs school.

As is the case with many people over the world, I became sick in October 2020 with the Coronavirus and through my experience with the NHS staff, medical staff and volunteers I feel very grateful for their help during that trying time.

Back in South Africa I was the main caregiver to my Dad, who suffered from COPD for many years. Sadly he died from the disease in 2011.

I feel privileged to have been a part of his care and having the care given to me while I was ill.

I want to give back to the community I am a part of so that I can also be the relief and support needed to someone else when they are at their lowest.

Studying Nursing will be the stepping stone for me to get there and I would be eternally grateful for any help given to me and my dream.
