Mani's Medical Bills-Help Get Mani Better

Hello there, my name is Danielle and this is my dog Mani. He is about 2.5 years old and the absolute love of my life. I'm creating this fundraiser to ask for your support and prayers for my little one, as he recently fell very ill and it has caused a huge mental and financial strain for myself. 

I'd love the opportunity to tell you the story of how Mani came into my life. A little over 2 years ago, I found Mani when he was less than 8 weeks old as a stray on the streets of Manila, Philippines, and it was love at first sight. He had no mom or siblings around, and a couple locals told me he had no home and no owners (this is why we have no idea what breed(s) he is). As soon as I picked him up and held him in my arms, I knew there was no putting him back down, and I promised him and myself that from that day forward he'd only live his best life. After finding a local vet and getting him some proper care, I found a dog hotel to take him in since I was leaving in 3 days. There we created a plan to get him all the vaccinations and treatment he needed to prepare him to come to the US. I spent my last 3 days in the Philippines visiting Mani and spent as much time with him as possible, and left some of my worn clothes there with him so he'd have my scent. Two and a half months later, I picked up my little boy from the airport and the rest is history. We've been inseparable ever since.


Mani recently became very ill out of nowhere. He stopped eating, was throwing up, and sleeping a lot. On November 29th, I noticed Mani had become jaundiced and was very lethargic, and I rushed him to the ER where he ended up staying for a few days. After several tests, I was told Mani was in liver failure and my heart sank. They didn't know exactly what the cause was and that said he would need a liver biopsy in order to confirm a diagnosis. Without a biopsy, Mani cannot receive a treatment plan he needs in order to get better. If he doesn't get the right treatment, eventually his liver will completely fail and he won't make it. He is currently at home with me, where he is getting medications to keep his liver from getting any worse, but unfortunately his liver is still failing and he is still very sick. He will barely eat, is still very lethargic, and just is not his loving and energetic self anymore. But the doctors are staying positive, and said said with a diagnosis and proper treatment plan, Mani should go back to being his old self and lead a happy life.

Unfortunately my financial situation has become a hard one. I am a college student studying nursing, and live on my own dollar. I've lost my job twice now due to covid, and the accumulating vet bills have made me unable to pay for Mani's diagnostic procedure and treatment. All funds will go directly to Mani's medical bills. 

Anything you can give, even the smallest amount, would be such an enormous help. I can't even begin to describe how much Mani means to me. He is my absolute world. We do almost everything together. Anywhere I can take him, he comes with me. The amount of appreciation and gratitude I have for you for helping me save my best friend's life is unsurmountable. Please help me save my dog and get my old Mani back.
