Get Mandy "Back" on Her Feet

Donation protected
I’m Mandy’s brother, Corey. I put this campaign together to help support her new medical and ongoing household bills while she is out of work recovering from a fractured spine.

If you know Mandy, you know she has several loves in life: her sons, family and friends, her two dogs, her job, professional boards, kayaking, and home improvement projects. She prides herself on learning new skills and tackling major projects – the bigger, the better. On May 7, 2022, Mandy was working on converting an outbuilding into a vacation cabin and fell off an 8-foot-high loft while running electrical wires. She fractured her spine as a result of the accident.
  • Mandy was airlifted to a hospital trauma unit closer to home and was later moved to an ICU step-down.
  • With the newly fractured vertebrae and previously existing bulging discs, she is immobile and must lie on her back to keep proper spinal alignment.
  • We expect she'll be fitted for a custom back brace and remain hospitalized until she can be transferred for inpatient rehabilitation.

While recovering and out of work, she has no income and no employer-paid time off. She may not be able to return to work for 12 weeks. Aside from physical pain and the inability to be on her feet doing things, thinking about when new bills will start rolling in is an added stressor that will hamper her recovery.

Please help Mandy get back on her feet by supporting my goal of alleviating this new financial burden. We hope that her medical insurance will cover the larger expenses (airlift alone is likely ~ $60,000). She is unable to cover out-of-pocket medical expenses (uncovered procedures, coinsurance expectations) or her normal ongoing living expenses, such as her mortgage, utilities, medical bills from a February accident, therapy, etc. Donations will go towards these medical expense obligations and other ongoing household bills while she is out of work recovering.

Thank you to all the friends and family that have visited her in the hospital and sent her videos and messages to lift her spirits and keep her mind occupied away from pain. Please keep that going and keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she works towards recovery.
