Get Henry to Prague

£780 of £1,300 goal

Raised by 30 people in 3 months

Henry Phillips grew up in Pucklechurch, attending Pucklechurch Primary School and Mangotsfield School and Sixth Form.  He played for Pucklechurch Football and Cricket Teams and worked in the Old Dairy, both when it was on Feltham Road and next to the bakery.

Henry is now studying Mechanical Engineering at Swansea University. Since going to Uni, he has taken up Lacrosse.  In his third year at Swansea and working hard towards his Bachelors, he is Club Captain for the University Lacrosse team and is the top goal scorer across all of Wales’ Universities this season.

We are massively proud that he has been picked for the Wales U20 Lacrosse team to play for Wales in the European Championship in Prague over the period 29 Jun - 6 Jul 19.

But…. and it’s a big but…. Lacrosse does not attract that same sort of sponsorship and funding as more mainstream sports.  In order to be able to play, he has been asked for £1,800 to pay for kit and equipment, flights, food and accommodation.  We have paid a £500 deposit but need your help to fund the rest.

We have set up a Go Fund Me page.  Please help get Henry to Prague and achieve his goal of playing for Wales by donating as much or as little as you can afford.  Anything raised in excess of the £1,300 will be given to the Pucklechurch Revel Committee to support local causes.

After a bit of a scare where Henry dislocated his elbow mid May we were unsure whether he would still be playing and made plans to refund everyone’s donations. Thankfully he is now fully fit and has just received his Wales kit. He is playing at No5 and is 2nd Captain.

The U20 Wales team played the Army on Sunday, beating them 12-9.

Henry flies out to Prague with the team on Friday ready for a friendly against Poland on Saturday. So excited. The fund is still open. All donations will be gratefully received
