I am a Water Protector. I was called here by the water, my ancestors, and Creator. They told me come and keep telling me to stay until this sees itself through. Every day we are met with psychological warfare, and yet our spirit remains strong. The spiritual warriors have gathered, and every time we gather together to talk, sing, work, pray, I am honored to be here with some of the strongest spirits I have ever met. I have been here at Oceti Oyate (formerly known as Oceti Sakowin) for almost 4 months now, serving as a water protector by aiding the community on many levels: organization, infrastructure, security, prayer, fire-tending, friendship and support, cleaning up camp. It has been a learning and healing experience that I know does not end here. There is a lot of work to continue to do to help protect our Mother Earth, and though my spirit and heart are here with the people that have become my family, my body is telling me that it's time to go home and recharge myself. My body is tired from trying to detox from the chemicals they have and continue to spray us with, my mind burnt out from the constant psychological warfare and stimulation. I am, like many water protectors here, tired and in need of a reboot to continue on the next frontline for our water. I plan on leaving camp around or after the 22nd, when they say they will come in an evacuate the camp I have come to call home. The previous gofundme that I had had slowed down in the last month, leaving me with this month's bills and travel expenses to deal with in order to come home. Any amount is so appreciated and will help make this transition easier.

I look forward to sharing more in depth with you the deep lessons I have learned here, and look forward to the time at home to be able to write/process these past few months.
