Get Finn back on his feet (paws)

Finn is a six-year-old German shepherd. He's been a good and faithful dog to the Couture family. His main companion, Lance, is a father of two. Lance is husband to Surrey school teacher Sarah. He’s an ace at guitar, loves fishing and fantasy football. On top of working in a research department at a local University Lance leads a busy life.
Despite family commitments, Lance has continually dedicated his time to dog training, not only his own, but countless other dogs, out of his love for them so as to help foster the bond they share with their owners. No one loves dogs like Lance. The loss of his last Shepherd due to a sudden illness took a toll on the family – They lost Bodo at the age 6, a dog in the prime of his life.
This is the same age as Finn is now.
We don’t want this to happen a second time.
Anyone who knows Finn, knows what a sweet, gentle boy he is. He deserves to live and resume living life to the fullest with his family. This is where you can help!
Earlier last week (October 6, 2017), Finn was clambering up the stairs in anticipation of dinner at home, and missed a step. Finn ended up with two legs through one step and two legs through another. As he struggled to get out, he somehow injured his spine. Now he is unable to walk and has had multiple hospital visits. This has taken a financial toll on his family.
Since that day, Finn has progressed from essentially being a total paraplegic, to being able to maintain stance with assistance. He is showing improvement, albeit in very small increments. The vet bills are adding up as they attempt to diagnose his condition. So far, the family has spent thousands for overnight vet bills and x-rays. Finn and family are looking at possible life saving surgery and care.
We cannot bear to lose Finn to this randomness. The children are too young to have to say goodbye to their protector and companion, especially after already losing Bodo unexpectedly at the same age.
Donations will help with the procedures needed to return Finn to good health. The money will be spent on hospital vet bills and getting our fur buddy back on his feet again. Recovery will entail a $3000 MRI and the possibility of surgeries totaling thousands more. We are at at point where we need to decide to keep going with treatment or say goodbye to Finn.
