Get Ely to the Elephants!

Ely (Elynor Todd-Jones) is having a Gap Year before heading to university to study biological science, especially animal communication. During this year, she'll be exploring her subject through work experience with Plimsoll Productions (to see how they package scientific 
ideas for blue-chip wildlife programs); she'll be involved with a local re-wilding project; and finally, she will volunteer at Elephant Nature Park in northern Thailand. It's this last commitment that we are raising funds for, and we hope you'll be inspired to help.

Ely says: "I am eager to learn from the park's
 founder, Lek Chailert, one of Time magazine's 'Heroes of Asia', and to observe some of nature's great communicators in a naturalistic setting. I am particularly thrilled to be able to work with these highly intelligent, majestic animals, and to be able to help them overcome the problems we humans have thrust upon them."



What the funds will be used for:

Flights, travel, and accomodation during my volunteer period in Thailand.



Why Ely chose to volunteer at the Elephant Nature Park:

This particular organisation has a reputation for being the best elephant sanctuary in Thailand, and is well known and respected for its effective and ethical work.


Ely's promise to contributors:

"I will be in south-east Asia from December 2019 to January 2020. Somewhere during that time I will send you an update about my experiences with the elephants, and at the end of my trip I will compile a video and slide show of photographs to send to everyone on the contributors list."
