Get Cheryl Back On Her Feet

On Saturday, September 19th mom took three hard falls on her bike. On Sunday her vision was compromised enough to raise concern to go in to the ER to get checked out. After a consultation at Denton Presby they didn't have an ophthalmologist on staff nor were they equipped to treat her injury so she was transported by ambulance to UT Southwestern. She had three significant retina tears in her eye.  After UT Southwestern learned she didn't have insurance, they discharged her and told her that they couldn't help her. Not having insurance posed quite a few issues to find a place to treat her injury. A very long story short, mom was able to get an appointment at Nana's retinal specialist. They attempted four different laser surgeries to seal the tears to save her operating expenses. They were not successful due to all the fluid and blood in her eye. Mom had to go into major surgery Tuesday, October 13th. They wanted $8,000 the day she showed up to surgery. Thankfully they were able to figure out payment enough for her to get the surgery done. In four weeks, mom has been out of work completely, been transported by ambulance, had four laser surgeries and a major surgery. She has monthly bills like rent, gas/utilities, car payment, etc.  If you feel any desire to help my mom, please consider to contribute to her financial funds.
