Briana Mercedes Aponte is an 18 year old performer based in Bronx, New York. She is trained in multiple styles of dance including ballet, jazz, African, salsa, hip-hop, baton, modern, and tap. She is also a talented mezzo-soprano who belts with passion and great skill. Her dream since the age of 6 has been to be on Broadway. She has trained majority of her life and is finally being given the opportunity to join the theatrical performers union known as "Equity". The union ensures protection of rights amongst performers and grants exclusive auditions for major productions to those apart of Equity.  Joining the union is the next big step in fulfilling a career on broadway. However, we need your help! The funds will partially support Open Hydrant Theater Company in their mission with providing a free performing arts program to the underserved youth in the South Bronx. By becoming a professional actor, which has been made possible through the efforts of her mentors, she will also become an ensemble member of “Open Hydrant”, the only AEA theater company in the Bronx.
