In a tragic turn of events, my nephew, Benjamin Mack, was shot in Albuquerque on Sunday 9/25. This senseless act damaged Ben's stomach, pancreas and liver among other organs. He spent a great part of the week in surgery or in the hospital's intensive care unit.
Thankfully, Ben is young and fit. He will survive this trauma. However, as you might imagine, there have been substantial medical and medically-related costs incurred due to this episode.
