Being with daughter with brain injury in Seattle.

Hi, I’m Robert(Chris) Medaris. I reached montana where my daughter is in the ICU. It’s a lot to type. She had a brain aneurysm. That’s truly what caused everything. One that has less than 5% chance of survival. They’re flying her to Seattle if they can. If not they have to find next best brain center in country. May have to have surgery to repair artery. May be able to do it by scope. She has extensive brain damage and definitely won’t ever be back to herself so it’s just taking it minute by minute. Day by day. Im working to get a flight to Seattle. There’s snowstorm coming in and I’d have to drive through mountain ranges with 5-10” of snow and with blown front suspension in major Rocky Mountain passes so I’m going to try and fly and leave my car in Montana. Just taking it as it comes and and do what I can do.
On 1-27-23 she underwent surgery to repair aneurysm and they found a second one and did it as well. Today 1-28-23 they did angiogram to make sure it repaired properly and detected a residual aneurysm. They will be going back in and doing the surgery again on 1-29-23 to reattempt to repair the aneurysm. I raised the limit just because it’s been expensive getting everything to be here and it’s going to be a long battle but I’m being as frugal as possible. My car was left in Montana to get here to Seattle asap as there was snowstorms preventing me driving as well(25” on the mountain passes I would have to take to get here) Seattle is definitely and expensive town and I’m being as frugal as possible to continue to be at her side. She’s currently sedated and intubated and will be awhile. The doctors and nurses and surgeons here have been great. The rest of this hospital I can’t say the same. But what’s most important is Mali’s care. I’ll continue to add updates as I get them. Thank you.
