HELP GET A FELLOW RAVER BACK ON THE ROAD!

Donation protected
Hey everyone.

Can I just begin by saying that UK Tek was incredible. Definitely the biggest party I've seen in the UK. Big up to everyone involved because you all deserve a bow. It was a very special weekend, and I'm so glad I went.

Everything was going amazingly until my friend Malcolm and I decided to go back to his car on the Saturday night around 3am to find his car had been vandalized for no apparent reason. Some people had decided it would be hilarious to flip his car onto its roof with the wheels facing the sky. We were obviously in shock and were just like, why would someone do this!?!?!? If you've ever met Malcolm, he is a gentle soul and wouldn't hurt a fly, so it's not as if he's pissed someone off. He was wearing a hoodie at the time saying 'free hugs!'

In my whole 20 years of going to events like this, I have never seen anything like it! I have seen cars been moved out the way or flipped into hedges as they were blocking the access road for people to get in and out. Or people misjudging roads and ending up in ditches etc, but never like this! This was just people being absolute fucking dicks (to put it mildly). In my opinion, this is not what happens at free parties. I go to these events with my friends just like everyone else because you can't beat the vibes. Free love, amazing music, incredible sound systems, amazing people, amazing locations and everyone is on a good level and just there to have fun and dance the night away. Oi oi!

So generally I am usually a designated driver, but Malcolm has not long passed his test and decided to drive to his first party and this shit happens. Takes the piss is an understatement!
So we had some friendly person approach us when we first saw Ruby the car on its roof, and they went to get some help and turned up with like 6 extra people to get her back on her wheels. They were just as confused as us as to why! Thank you so much for your help. It means a lot. The community spirit is real!

So yeah, basically the car was a write-off. The windscreen was completely smashed, and the roof had caved in from the weight of it being on its roof, so it was completely un-drivable. We had to call his insurance, who sorted a recovery truck and a taxi for us back to Bristol under a claim. Due to the cost of recovery, taxi and excess cost he is not going to get a payout at all from the write-off, so he is completely without a vehicle now. And to really rub salt in the wounds, he spent quite a bit of money last month getting it through the MOT and put a set of brand-new tyres on her. To make things worse he's been out of work for the last 6 months and finally found a driving job but to get to his depot at certain times he needs transportation, so this has completely ruined his chances of starting in the next week.

So anyway, I know this is a bit of a rant, but I'm just trying to put into words how much this has affected him and in my opinion this sort of shit doesn't happen in the party scene. We all like a joke, but this is beyond funny. So here I am as a buddy setting up a GoFundMe page to try and help my mate Malcolm get back on the road as the poor guy is pretty skint and pretty down about the whole situation. The car had a lot of sentimental value.

If you find it in your hearts to donate anything towards getting him back on the road with a little cheap runner, he and I would be so grateful. Just trying to see if the community of the free party scene can pull together and help a fellow raver out. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Much respect and big love to everyone xxxxx till the next time ;-)
