Germantown Odyssey of the Mind 2018

The Germantown PTSA's Odyssey of the Mind program is excited to announce that its Division II: "Classic ... Mockumentary! Seriously?" team has advanced to the World Finals at Iowa State University. The tournament is being held from May 23rd-May 26th, 2018. This is only the program's fifth year, and Germantown is sending its third team to the World Finals. These students are amazing and resourceful -- they've worked very hard to make it so far. To help cover the students' travel costs, the team is asking for your support.

Odyssey of the Mind is an international problem solving competition that encourages creative thinking, risk-taking, and teamwork as students develop solutions to dramatic or technical problems.

Our seven middle-school students have been working for the last six months to create an engaging, hilarious, and ingenious "mockumentary" about Alice in Wonderland that questions our use of social media and its place in real-world situations. It is incredibly timely. Every aspect of the 8-minute solution from the script to the props and costumes are student-developed. They have advanced through their regional and state tournaments to earn the honor of representing New York State at the World Finals.
