On July 22, Jeff Germann went into cardiac arrest, he was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he was put on life support (at first his family thought he needed time to let his body heal and rest), but after two days there were still no signs of movement (fingers or toes or eyes starting to move like he would wake up). The 3rd day, the doctors ordered an MRI to see what the damage was. When the doctor came in with the results, he told Jeff’s family that there was very little brain activity.

Robert, his oldest son, had to make some tough decisions, and try to figure out how to best honor his dad. He took the night to rest and waited for family to arrive the next day to say their goodbyes. They loved, laughed, and cried together. And at the end of the day on the 4th day, the family decided to terminate life support as it wasn't the way of life Jeff would have wished or wanted. He took his last breath before 3am where he went to heaven to be with the Lord.

Jeff’s sudden passing has now left the family with planning a funeral, his house payment, medical expenses, past-due bills, and the desire to assist in the relocation of his fiance, Kimberly. Jeff had no medical insurance or anything of the like, so these new expenses are a financial strain on the family.

This loss has left his family heartbroken and devastated. He was their superman - and the real life Santa to his precious grandkids. In this moment, his kids are remembering and celebrating the life of Jeff and trying to care for his last earthly wishes.
