GeoStrong

On June 10, 2018, Geovannie was enjoying a night out with friends on Mulholland Drive when he was hit by a drunk driver.  The individual continued to drive off and Geovannie was rushed to Cedar Sinai Hospital. Geovannie suffered a fracture on the left side of his cheek, along with a traumatic brain injury. He currently is unable to talk and has very limited mobility.  Geovannie has had 3 different brain surgeries within a span of 2 months. Geovannie has been through many hospitals and is continuing his fight to recovery.  These funds will help Geovannie and his family with medical bills, some care products for Geovannie and money to keep him on his feet throughout his recovery process. Geovannie has been fighting for two months now and is making great progress. Geo can wave, give a thumbs up, squeeze hands, give a peace sign with his fingers and follows people with his eyes. Geo is a loving brother, , cousin, son, uncle, friend, mentor, and overall individual with a big heart. Life has not always been the easiest for Geo, but he has overcome so much. He has been so involved as a student on the CSUCI campus. He committed to  3 years  in the LEAP program encouraging local Ventura County students to take the path of higher education, he is also apart of EOP on campus and was a peer mentor and before the accident was on track for his third year, and he also was an RA for the MSLI program for one year.  Geo loved giving back and being there for others when they needed guidance or just a burst of laughter.  Whether it was through his funny jokes or his crazy danced moves, he brightens any room he entered.           El 10 de junio de 2018, Geovannie estaba disfrutando de una noche con amigos en Mulholland Drive cuando fue golpeado por un conductor ebrio. El individuo continuó conduciendo y Geovannie fue llevado al Hospital Cedar Sinai. Geovannie sufrió una fractura en el lado izquierdo de la mejilla, junto con una lesión cerebral traumática. Actualmente no puede hablar y tiene una movilidad muy limitada. Geovannie ha tenido 3 cirugías cerebrales diferentes en un período de 2 meses. Geovannie ha pasado por muchos hospitales y continúa su lucha por la recuperación. Estos fondos ayudarán a Geovannie y su familia con las facturas médicas, algunos productos de cuidado para Geovannie y dinero para mantenerlo en pie durante todo su proceso de recuperación. Geovannie ha estado luchando durante dos meses y está haciendo un gran progreso. Geo puede saludar, levantar el pulgar, apretar las manos, dar un signo de paz con los dedos y seguir a las personas con los ojos. Geo es un hermano cariñoso, primo, hijo, tío, amigo, mentor e individuo en general con un gran corazón. La vida no siempre ha sido la más fácil para Geo, pero él ha llegado demasiado. Él ha estado tan involucrado como un estudiante en el campus de CSUCI. Se comprometió con 3 años en el programa LEAP alentando a los estudiantes locales del Condado de Ventura a seguir el camino de la educación superior, además de EOP en el campus y fue mentor de pares y antes de que el accidente estuviera en camino para su tercer año, y también fue un RA para el programa MSLI por un año. A Geo le encantaba devolver algo y estar ahí para los demás cuando necesitaban guía o simplemente un estallido de risa. Ya sea a través de sus bromas divertidas o sus movimientos de baile loco, ilumina cualquier habitación en la que ingresó.
