Georgienne's Medical Fund

Anyone familiar with Georgienne Hammer knows how much of herself she gives to others. She has been on the front lines of the Northport Wine Festival, Music in the Park, the Northport Winter Carnival, the Northport Omena Chamber of Commerce and so much more bringing enjoyment to our community. Many of you know her from the Grand Traverse Lighthouse, the Northport Highlands, Kal Excavating and the Silver Leaf and Bel Lago Wineries where she has worked.

 

On November 16 Georgienne suffered a hemorrhagic stroke which left her in the hospital for two weeks. She was at work when this happened and so received immediate medical treatment.  She is one of the fortunate 20% of stroke victims who will heal completely in time, but the stroke affected her balance and eyesight. She remains unable to work or drive, relying on others to get her to the many medical appointments that follow such an event, the supermarket and elsewhere.

 

This Go Fund Me account has been set up to help defray the costs of an ambulance ride followed by such a long stay in the hospital, and medical appointments that are following. Let’s help Georgienne get through this difficult time.
