Hey Guys, my name is Carolyn, and I am fundraising to help my two dear friends and fellow midwife, Georgi and Porl, who have found themselves in the most unfortunate of circumstances.

Falling in love but living in opposite sides of the globe it not easy for any young couple. But these two were destined to make it. Like many others separated by covid for far too long, after numerous failed attempts, Georgi and Porl were finally reunited in December 2021. They couldn't be happier!

In February, they found out the most exciting news! They were expecting a beautiful baby girl! They were overjoyed! United here in WA, late May, hoping to start a new life together, Georgi was glowing at 28 weeks pregnant, when Porl suddenly became unwell in early July, finding himself in ED. Almost 5 weeks on, still in hospital, with endless tests, observations, brain surgery and rehabilitation, he is still struggling with routine daily tasks, having lost all the function of the left side of his body.

A young, fit 33-year-old, soon to be a Dad again, got the devastating news that he has a large brain lesion. A complete diagnosis is yet to be made, but regardless, he has a VERY long journey to an unknown level of recovery ahead.

A young couple, with a little one on the way and in the blink of an eye their world came crashing down!

I am asking for any help big or small, to contribute towards the very stressful and expensive prep for a newborn on a single income and of course, with the crazy prices of fuel to and from the hospital for visits twice a day, parking and all the outpatient "running around" when Porl eventually gets home.

I know that these two beautiful humans will be eternally grateful for all your love and support.
