In Memory of George W. Odom

Donation protected
My father George William Odom, 80, of Henrico, VA passed Tuesday, February, 27, 2018.  I am helping my mother settle his estate.  Shortly before he died, a significant amount of hospital and intensive care was provided and I want to help mitigate the financial impact on my mother.  Also, as dad loved to cultivate plants and flowers, my family would like to donate a bench or brick paver to the nearby Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Henrico, Virginia where my family has had a long standing membership.

Obituary for George William Odom:

George William Odom, 80, of Henrico, VA passed peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday, February, 27, 2018, at Henrico Doctors Hospital.  George was born November 26, 1937, in Homewood, Mississippi to Mavis (Stokes), and George Howell.   In his youth, George earned rank of Eagle Scout from Boy Scouts of America and was a life-long member of the Masonic Order. He served in the United States Navy as a Yeoman stationed at Chincoteague Naval Air Station (Wallops Island) where he met and married Iris Ann Gunter of Atlantic, Virginia. George received a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counselling from the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!).  George had many careers throughout his life. He was a District Scout Executive in the state of Alabama and worked as a vocational counselor and supervisor for the states of Alabama and Mississippi.  Later he became the administrator of the Accomack County Nursing Home.
