On Thursday, March 26, 2020, the Norris family, George, Amy & Jack, embarked on an afternoon bike ride in their hometown of Ipswich. At approximately 2:10 pm, a horrific accident occurred where a motorist struck the three (3) of them on their bikes. George & Jack were airlifted to MGH & Amy originally was taken to Beverly Hospital & later transported to MGH. Sadly, George succumbed to his injuries late Thursday evening. Jack & Amy remain @ MGH with release happening in the very near future.
This is a devastating loss for the community, his family & we, his work family. The Norris family has endured great trials in their lifetime & yet, remain a family of great faith. George was a humble, generous & caring man who assisted wherever a need arose, never seeking recognition … he simply got the work done. Amy, living life in much the same manner, endured injuries that require healing. Jack is devastated that he has lost his dad in such a traumatic way.
Given the limitations set by the COVID-19 virus, Amy is not able to work at this time. We have increased the goal to assure she and Jack are able to stay in their home and manage their grief, rather than financial worry.
Anticipating the financial burden that will be placed on this family, we have created this Go Fund Me page to allow individuals to assist them in their time of great grief and recovery. Thank you for your generous support at this most difficult time.
