My name is James. For those of you who do not already know, my older brother George Gdovin passed away in March of this year. I can think of no better way to honor him than to help facilitate the installation of an elegant memorial bench located in one of his favorite places, the Manasquan Reservoir.
George would visit the reservoir frequently to escape the troubles of life and to reconnect with nature. It was a safe bet that if George was not home he was either at work or at the reservoir. I also experience considerable joy going for a run around its five mile perimeter nature trail. It really is an escape from reality.
If you have not been there before, there are memorial benches located in different areas around the trail. Only a few locations currently remain and my family and I would be honored if you would consider helping us secure a location and make this vision come true.
The organization that enabled this opportunity is called Friends of the Parks. The cost of the bench is about $2300. The bench is constructed with resilient South American Ipe wood and includes two mounted plaques.
