GenZ Voices and the Future of Policing

Change takes time. That means we can't take the foot off the gas pedal and have to continue to focus attention on police reform, healing in communities, the building back of trust, and a fair and equitable experience of policing and public safety.

PROJECT: Young  Americans for a Safer Community engages GenZ'ers and young Millennials nationwide, in a meaningful public safety project to give them a voice of influence in building a better, safer future for everyone.

We're asking for your support so we can finish this incredible project.

There are 3 parts to the project:

(1) A 10-episode video podcast series called "NextGenTalks: The Future of Policing" --- GenZ'ers host compelling conversations with 25 different public safety stakeholders, ranging from activists, to advocacy groups, to law enforcement, to researchers, to academics, to unpack hard hitting issues in policing. Watch the video podcasts on our Youtube page for a crash course on what's being debated as problems and solutions across the country, and become more informed.

(2) What happens when you put  20+ GenZ'ers in a Zoom room with 7 police chiefs and sheriffs, to share their perspectives, priorities and ideas about what is important to their generation when it comes to the future of policing? Poignant, riveting, moving, insightful conversation and relationship building that shifts hearts and minds. The meeting was recorded so you can check it out on our Youtube page.

(3) Since real change happens at the local level, a Local Engagement Toolkit will  be developed, with some actionable steps young people can take in their own communities, to continue engaging in the public safety conversation after this national project ends.

How are the voices of these young Americans reaching the greater law enforcement community through this project? The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund & Museum will be sharing this project with more than 300,000 people in their community via email newsletter.

Would you help us fund this project and get us to the finish line?

Thank you for investing in the next generation. They have the passion, energy, and decades ahead of them, to create a stronger, better future in public safety. Help us give them the education, tools, and opportunity to engage.
