Geno's Fight

Three weeks ago, our father Gene "Geno" was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 Esophageal Cancer that has spread to his bones, kidney, liver, lungs and lower back. This type of cancer is very aggressive and inoperable. The last two weeks he has started an aggressive radiation treatment which will be followed by chemotherapy in the coming weeks.  Last week he had surgery to add a picc line (for the chemo treatment) and a jejunostomy line (feeding tube in the stomach) that delivers food and medicine. 

Some of you may know my mother, April, fought her own Breast Cancer battle last year and is now going through her one-year follow up exams.  

We have started this campaign to help with the extensive medical bills they both now share along with the on-going process to keep Geno comfortable and as pain-free as possible going forward. 

April has now become Geno's caregiver and has also had to step away from her job.  These funds will reduce some of the stress and anxiety monitarily; however, more importantly, we ask that you please keep our family in your prayers.

Those of us that know Geno, understand how big of a fighter he has always been his entire life...and he will continue to be this for as long as he can.

Gene & April live in Scottsdale, AZ and have three sons Ben, Tim & Dan. Ben Ashley their oldest son has started this campaign for the family to reduce the financial burden of day to day bills and medical bills.  All funds will be sent directly to Geno's wife April Ashley the beneficiary.
