Hi my name is genise chambers I gave birth to my daughter at 19 weeks I arrived at the university of Chicago January 16,2025 at 6:45 a.m I checked into the er with slight bleeding and unfortunately I wasn’t treated properly because I wasn’t 22 weeks to get admitted upstairs for proper treatment as I sat into the waiting room I gave them a sample of urine that was not the case my sample was all blood I notified the head nurse that my bleeding picked up I was ignored and she went to her next patient told me I would be seen shortly after 2 hours of bleeding out unattended I had to use bathroom again this particular time I had felt pressure It felt as if my baby was coming my I went to wipe myself and it was my water bag erupting into my hand I immediately start screaming the nurse burst into the bathroom and started to take me to the back to get treatment this was what I was trying to avoid I got admitted upstairs and they immediately told me that I was not having contractions or dilating so they weren’t able to assist me just yet I was on the baby monitor to check my baby heart beat and yer it was there very strong so she was okay I was there for 5 days and the head ob gyne doctor told me it’s best if I terminated my pregnancy and suggested I take a pill which will help me with my contractions she never once explained that my baby had no chance of survival in my head I’m thinking why would I do that(right) if she has a heart beat. IM getting very confident that my baby had a chance of survival I asked my nurse what does this pill do she strictly told me if you take this pill your baby won’t survive I refuse to take it and I gave them my decision which was I want to continue my pregnancy. After sitting for 4 days all my fluids were gone to help my baby lungs&bones properly develop (I was told that I was getting discharged and I would have to come back when I was 22 or 24 weeks pregnant then they will be able to help my baby with proper surgery to intubate her which I was comfortable with now I’m fully aware that if I go home with no fluids my baby won’t survive why would you send me home I’m furious and upset because they didn’t take my situation serious enough to take me upstairs to be seen and treated my daughter had started to make her arrival as they were preparing my discharge papers I was fully dressed into I went into the bathroom I wiped myself and I felt my daughter feet coming I immediately got undressed and sat on the bed and prepared myself for delivery without a doctor I notified my nurse she was very upset herself after sitting for 6-10minutes minutes my daughter was here no doctor was around to help me deliver my baby the head ob and delivery team was delivering another baby so when they all arrived in the room they just picked her up and handed her to me I sat in cried for so long because they could have helped me!!!!!!! My daughter gave me a last look and closed her eyes that was it she was gone and I broke down even harder now I’m getting all of this I’m sorry for your lost from every team member that was in the delivery room after being notified 10 minutes ago I can’t tell you guys how lifeless I feel I pray my story gets out if there’s anything you can help me with to give my daughter a cremation service I would be very thankful HER NAME IS
