Hi there!!
I was born with a complex heart defect. Overtime, I’ve had 6 heart surgeries, placement of a pacemaker & defibrillator, about 3 pacemaker changes, and numerous other test & procedures.
Through it all, I’ve persevered & had a good life. I worked as a social worker in foster care, married & raised my (step)daughter for the past 8 years, cared for my frail grandmother, taught children at church, and been a supportive relative & friend. I thank God for His goodness!!!
Now again, I face a new challenge. I require a heart & liver transplant to continue living. My heart condition has lead to liver cirrhosis, diabetes, and several other conditions. This transplant will prevent possible future issues with my kidneys & neurological abilities. I’ll also be able to see my daughter through high school, at the very least.
It’s a long road ahead but I’m ready for it. Like Wonder Woman, I’m ready for battle!!!
I’ve been cleared & approved for the heart & liver transplant and have been placed on the waitlist. On November 30th, I’m due to be hospitalized & placed on IV medications until a donor match becomes available. So the timing is unknown. Once there’s an appropriate match (God bless my donor & the family), I’ll have the surgery & an expected 4 week hospital recovery. Thereafter, I am to remain near the hospital facility (in a hotel with a 24/7 caregiver) for frequent follow-up appointments, rejection test, and possible issues. This phase typically takes 4-6 weeks.
So as you can imagine, this is not only a physically/mentally demanding feat, but very costly. So I humbly ask 4 things of you:
1) take a look at my donation campaign
2) donate what ever amount you can
3) share the post or link with everyone you know
4) repeat over & over again
I truely appreciate it, every dollar counts & every effort is worth it!!!
